South Indian Sampler: YOGURT RAITA

YOGURT RAITA (4 OF 4), SERVES 4 © 2012


• 2 cups plain, fat free yogurt

• 1 Roma or other medium size tomato or 1/2 a seeded cucumber, chopped

• 1 pinch of salt

• 1 small pinch of Spicely garam masala

• 2 pinches of chopped cilantro (optional)


1. Gently stir together the tomato or cucumber and the yogurt. (If using Greek yogurt add a tbsp. Of water.)

2. Add the salt and garam masala.

3. Stir and top with cilantro.

Variation: if using cucumber, try mint instead of cilantro
